چکیده

ABSTRACT Spectral energy distribution (SED) of the broad-band continuum emission from black-hole accretion discs can serve as a tool to measure parameters central body and constrain geometry inner flow. We focus on case an active galactic nucleus (AGN), with disc dominating UV/optical bands. parametrize changes in thermal power-law components, which reveal diminution emissivity. To this end we explore effects gaps emerging SED that be caused by presence either (i) inner, optically thin, radiatively inefficient hot flow; (ii) secondary black hole embedded within disc; or (iii) combination both components. suggest resulting underlying help us understand some departures standard-disc scenario. estimate data required for such project must sampled detail over far-UV soft X-ray bands during interval about month corresponding characteristic variability time-scale AGN. Detecting gap at intermediate radii few 100 gravitational would require quality photometry uncertainties up $\sim 1~{{\ \rm per\ cent}}$. The cavity standard recovered UV photometric accuracy 5 per cent better. show effect intrinsic reddening source demonstrate when it disentangled.

Constraints on AGN accretion disc viscosity derived from continuum variability

We estimate a value of the viscosity parameter in AGN accretion discs for the PG quasar sample. We assume that optical variability on time-scales of months to years is caused by local instabilities in the inner accretion disc. Comparing the observed variability time-scales to the thermal time-scales of α-disc models we obtain constraints on the viscosity parameter for the sample. We find that, ...

Rapid AGN accretion from counter–rotating discs

Accretion in the nuclei of active galaxies may occur chaotically. This can produce accretion discs which are counter–rotating or strongly misaligned with respect to the spin of the central supermassive black hole (SMBH), or the axis of a close SMBH binary. Accordingly we consider the cancellation of angular momentum in accretion discs with a significant change of plane (tilt) between inner and ...

Spectral Distribution of Energy From the Sun

Measurements on the spectral energy distribution of direct solar radiation, made in July 1953, at Sacramento P eak, New Mexico, altitude 9,200 feet are described . Spectral data a re given for wavelengths extending from 299 to 535 millimicrons for ai r masses 0, 1.0,2.0, and 3.0. A determination of atmospheric transmittance as a function of wavelength results in calculated total amounts of ozon...

Spectral Energy Distribution in Supercritical Disk Accretion Flows through Photon-trapping Effects

We investigate the spectral energy distribution (SED) of the supercritical disk accretion flows around black holes by solving the multi-frequency zeroth moment equation of the radiation transfer equation under the flux-limited diffusion approximation as well as the energy equation of gas. Special attention is paid to the photon-trapping effects, the effects that photons are trapped within accre...

Emission lines from illuminated warped accretion disks in AGN

The broad line profiles (Hβ) from a nonplanar accretion disk resulting from reprocessing of hard X-ray radiation are studied in this paper. The simplest model of a disk with small inclination and a central point-like source of ionizing radiation is adopted. The profiles obtained depend significantly on the line of sight – they are asymmetric as well as frequency-shifted in most cases. Since suc...
